iquid nitrogen boils at 320 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. As the liquid changes from a liquid to a gas it’s volume increases by about 850 times.
If you try to contain all that gas inside a sealed 2 liter bottle, a tremendous amount of pressure builds up inside and bursts the bottle. When the bottle ruptures, the expanding gas can launch a trash can 100 feet or more into the air.
