he Bed-of-Nails is a classic physics demonstration of force and pressure. By distributing your weight over many nails, each individual nail only presses on your body with a small force. Not enough to pierce the skin. Breaking the brick is an example of a very inelastic collision. The brick absorbing nearly all the energy of the moving sledge hammer.
